Isoform cell-type specificity in the mouse primary motor cortex

Isoform regulation is crucial for neuronal differentiation and is implicated in neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disease. Most single-cell brain studies rely on gene-level measurements, which can mask cell-type isoform shifts. Linking SMART-seq isoform resolution with 10x Genomics-defined cell types and MERFISH spatial measurements revealed extensive cell-type-specific isoform diversity in mouse primary motor cortex and refined cell types beyond gene-level estimates.
