Thermo-electrochemical generator: energy harvesting & thermoregulation for liquid cooling applications

High-performance electronics increasingly require liquid cooling to dissipate large heat loads. Low-grade waste heat is ubiquitous and difficult to recover, while existing liquid-cooling designs primarily cool high-power CPUs. A flow thermo-electrochemical cell couples cooling with power generation, producing 88 microwatts while achieving a 450 W/(m2K) heat-transfer coefficient and supporting applications from data centers to electric-vehicle batteries.
